Foreword

Cornucopia
Supposedly the origin of the myth of the unicorn, Cornucopia is a symbol of abundance and good fortune. The original depictions were of a goat’s horn filled with fruits and flowers, an overflowing decadence of organic delights.

We have here a bountiful issue which harvests a goat’s horns load of the emerging and contemporary art world. These are people that create new, exciting and diverse works in the face of a market that is sticking to it’s tried and tested brands of ‘art’ and institutions where we are seeing people stubbornly going under the knife or the hammer because they can’t see it in their interests to evolve.

However, that is not the case here. In these artists, galleries and festivals we find a rich and splendid trove of expression: thoughtful, often humorous, a breeding ground for new ideas that will shape the community their born from and in time our society at large.
